Cameron Builders (Newcastle) Limited has a well established history of delivering high quality work for a range of Local Authorities, Social Housing Organisations and private individuals. Over the 40 year history of the company we have developed a significant client base that regularly reappoint Cameron Builders, confident that they will get a competitive and high quality project.

We pride ourselves on the high quality we deliver to all of our commissions. We understand that to continue to deliver this service we must continually invest in our staff through training and apprenticeships. To date many of our employees have been with the company for over 20 years, some having joined the company through our apprentice programme. All of our management team are time served tradesmen.

Our site operatives are supported by our office based staff who are able to provide a dedicated Customer Liaison Service streamlining the way our customers interact with our organisation enabling us to provide a personal and rapid response to all their queries.

The results of this successful combination are evident through our previous commissions where we have undertaken construction, conversions, maintenance property modernisations and disability adaptation programmes over a range of vacant and occupied properties.

Effective management of any works contract is essential to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of the programme. Cameron Builders believe in the importance of clear and simple lines of communication. Throughout the programme of works we will offer a single point of contact. We will then allocate work appropriately through our organisation to ensure that it is completed quickly and by utilizing the necessary resources to deliver the project with the philosophy of achieving zero defects.

The diagram below details our standard communication protocol.

Communication Protocol

We are confident that the procedures we have in place combined with the experience of working on similar projects, we can offer a service that will require minimum time and resourcing. During our regular client review meeting, we will identify a programme of works to be undertaken. Following the client notification to the customer or site manager, Cameron Builders will commence its comprehensive service that will require no further client input.

All our on site foreman carry company mobile phones and are contactable at any time. Should preparation works need to be undertaken to the property we will detail what these entail and make resources available to provide assistance if required.

Prior to commencement of works we will under take where necessary a detailed room-by-room inspection, noting all works to be undertaken. The document this exercise creates will be continually updated as works are completed, inspected and signed off. The document will then be filed at our Head Office as reference in the unlikely event that a query regarding the completed works arise, and as a tool to identify areas for improvement as part of our ongoing commitment to training and capacity building.

Prior to our team being on site we will go through the schedule of works with the customer or management staff, explaining what will take place and what they can expect to see upon completion.

Once we have completed all of the works, including inspections we will once again take the customer through the completed works.

Within our organisation John Wigham, Mark Elliot and Michael Perry will provide the point of contact for the contract. We encourage customers to contact Cameron Builders with any queries and they can rest safe in the knowledge that these will be resolved with minimal inconvenience or delay.

Ensuring that a project is adequately resourced is essential to achieving both time scales and quality. We ensure that our highly skilled and dedicated workforce has both the training, equipment and time necessary to offer our clients the best possible service.

The company is managed centrally from our Newcastle Office. Our office based support staff continually monitor progress of all our schemes ensuring that all identified needs are met. We believe in continual investment in our staff, ensuring that they are fully skilled with both trade skills in addition to ensuring they carry out work responsibly and safely.

Through this commitment, we have developed a highly capable in house carpentry and joinery department. As a result we are able to quickly develop bespoke solutions to our projects without the need to involve subcontractors.

Company directors meet weekly with managers to discuss and monitor workload. These regular meetings ensure capacity is distributed quickly to where it is needed. This is then passed on to our 'on site' foremen.

To maximise the capacity of our staff we ensure that all our staff have multi disciplinary training. This enables them to undertake a number of tasks reducing the need for our site operatives to travel and allowing them to quickly address all void works within a minimal number of visits to site.

Cameron Builders is committed to offering all our employees training throughout their employment with the company. Over recent years this has included individuals taking part in day release and part time courses in addition to our in house talks and presentations, all of which are designed to increase the capacity and capability of our workforce.

All our training programmes and records are held and monitored centrally from our main office, ensuring skill gaps are quickly identified and assistance offered.

We also provide a number of Apprenticeship training courses. We have had significant success in assisting individuals to realise their full potential through our apprentice programme, retaining many of them once fully qualified.
